Vacation photoshoot

A vacation photoshoot is a 30-minute photo session for travellers, priced from $130, held at one location near where you are staying. It exists for anyone on a trip who comes home with hundreds of photographs and none of themselves: a solo traveller, two friends on a long weekend, a group celebrating a birthday, or a family who wants something more relaxed than formal portraits. At 30 minutes and 20 edited photos it takes a small slice of a holiday, and that is deliberate.

Short means it fits a holiday. A vacation photographer meets you at the hotel, a café or a public square, works for 30 minutes, and leaves you the rest of the day. In Playa del Carmen that might be the beach before breakfast; in Oaxaca, the streets around Santo Domingo in late afternoon; in Mazatlán, the malecón at sunset; in Todos Santos, the old town before dinner. One location, chosen because it is close, keeps the whole session on camera instead of in a taxi.

A solo traveller gets a plan built for one person. The meeting point can be somewhere busy, the photographer gives direction throughout so nobody is left guessing what to do with their hands, and the pictures are of you in the place rather than of the place with you in a corner. For friends or families, the 30 minutes cover a group frame, a couple of smaller combinations and a quick portrait each, so tell us the headcount when booking.

Archaeological zones run by the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) and protected areas managed by the Comisión Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas (CONANP) have their own rules for photography, tripods and professional work, so check them before choosing one as a backdrop. A family on holiday with small children is better served by the family session, which is paced for kids, and a couple by the couple session; a longer vacation session can be added and is quoted in writing before booking. The vacation gallery is delivered within 7 days.

Questions about vacation photoshoot

Who is a vacation photoshoot in Mexico for?

A vacation photoshoot in Mexico is for anyone travelling who wants pictures they are actually in: a solo traveller, two friends, a group, or a family on holiday. At 30 minutes and 20 edited photos, a vacation photoshoot is designed to fit between breakfast and an excursion without reshaping the day.

Can a solo traveller book a vacation photoshoot?

A solo traveller can book a vacation photoshoot, and many do, because a trip taken alone usually ends with no photographs of the person who took it. The vacation photographer gives direction throughout, and the meeting point can be a hotel lobby, a café or a public square if you prefer to meet somewhere busy.

Where does a vacation photoshoot take place?

A vacation photoshoot takes place at one location close to where you are staying, such as a beach, a historic street or a viewpoint, so no time is lost in transit. Sites run by the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) have their own rules for cameras and tripods, so check them before choosing an archaeological zone.

How is a vacation photoshoot different from a family session?

A vacation photoshoot is 30 minutes and 20 photos for travellers of any kind, kept short so it fits around a holiday. A family session starts at the same length but is paced for children and grandparents, planned around one group portrait, a few smaller combinations and the breaks young kids need.
